I’m Jonathan Charles, a photographer and writer from southeast Missouri. I’ve always enjoyed both photography and writing, and somewhere along the way those two interests began feeding each other. Photography gives me something to explore, notice, and experience. Writing gives me a way to slow those experiences down, think about them, and hopefully turn them into something worth sharing.

I’m also the creator of Camera Dates at CameraDates.com, a photography education project built around practical learning, intentional photography, and the idea that becoming a better photographer has much more to do with learning to see than constantly buying something new. Camera Dates is where I focus primarily on photography. Medium gives me room to wander a little farther.

Here you’ll find photography, creativity, travel, faith, technology, observations about life, stories from whatever I'm working on, and probably a few things that resist fitting neatly into any category. I’m a husband, a dad, a Christian, a photographer, a writer, and somebody still figuring plenty of things out as I go.
